Travel Credit Cards

Since 2017, I’ve racked up more than 1 million points and miles with multiple airlines and hotel systems — saving me thousands of dollars on flights and hotels. How? Travel credit cards.

Flight Deals

Flights don’t have to break the bank.

If you (1) are just starting your travel credit card journey and don’t have a lot of miles yet, (2) don’t want to deal with miles and point systems, and would rather pay with cash, or (3) like to use points, but are also open to paying with cash if there’s a great deal, I have great news: there are so many good deals to be found on flights.

Typically, the key is flexibility: if you select a destination, and the dates you want to travel, and THEN look for a flight, you’re probably going to end up paying a lot for that flight.

If, instead, you first look for cheap flights, and then choose your destination and schedule based on the deals you find, you’re likely to save a ton of money (and you might discover a surprising new destination in the process!).

There are a number of companies that are eager to help you with this method of planning. They include:

Where I Stay

Accommodations

01. Booking.com

My go-to hotel booking site, with a pretty decent loyalty program and an enormous array of options in countless locations.

02. Agoda

Similar to Booking.com, Agoda is a wide-ranging hotel booking site. Always check both sites — sometimes the same hotel is cheaper on Agoda!

03. Hostelworld

Sometimes I stay in private rooms in hostels, and when I do, I almost always book them on Hostelworld.
